Sam and Max
They’re back! Steve Purcell is once again drawing a Sam & Max comic, but now it is distributed on the web and interactive… sort of. Hold your cursor over each panel for the wonderful words. Started off on a bi-weekly schedule, but now looks monthly.
The comic is sponsored by the company making a new game featuring the infamous dog and rabbit duo. Don’t be too distracted by the large Bone ads.
Commenty Goodness
I’ve decided that if you don’t leave a comment yourself, I’ll do it for you. That’s of course, if you bothered to provide feedback via e-mail, IM, phone or facetime. I’ve done so twice for Joe already.
Leave a comment so I know you likey or no likey. Doesn’t have to be clever, funny or nice. Just leave it if you had a thought while reading. I’ll take you to DQ.
Rosetta@home
Instead of searching for aliens with SETI@home (I’m looking at you Joe), why not help find a cure for cancer? I read a story on Rosetta@home on MSNBC last week and meant to post this link.
Fight cancer when not fragging!
I H8 Routers
As you may remember from last time, I had to download some new firmware for my router so that the Xbox 360 and Xbox Live (XBL) would play nice with it. I sort of made the leap from that to having had to buy a new router to make it do right. Here’s what went down.
So, I hit up the support page on the D-Link site and fill in for the DI-784. I get back a page with a bunch of crap that isn’t very relevant to my model, but since it is just confusing enough, I click on a link that seems to indicate what I want is there. What I got was a nice fat 500 Server Error for some Taiwanese domain. Excellent!
I easily found the Tech Support link to send an e-mail though. Funny how that goes… anyway, I started this nice little chain with those helpful folks “Building Networks for Peopleâ€Â... Continue reading »
Best Job in America
I got an e-mail from a team member today with a link to the Best Jobs in America. He wrote: “Feel good about yourself, you have the best job in America!” Agree on the flexibility of hours (you understand if you know me), but not on the stress, creativity or flex environment.
I wonder what company has all that for this job?
Arroyo
Arroyo: 2/4, 2HR, 1K, 1BB
Pena: 2/5, 1HR, 3K, 1BB
That’s in the two games they have each started. Oh, and Arroyo is 2-0, has K’d 11 and a 1.98 ERA too.
That is the second HR Pena has allowed to bounce off his person/glove in Fenway’s RF. Remember his visit as a Red last year?
Arroyo has more bombs than Manny and Pena combined, but we’ll be calling Pena by the name *Little* Papi soon.
Still a Wily Mo fan and not a Bronson fan. I’m just saying…
Manny Being Manny
As most of you know, I am a Manny fan. Someone decided our aloof left fielder would be a great subject for a children’s book.
When you have to go potty, just go inside the…
No Perfect Circle
A circle is 360 degrees. The Xbox 360 has a ring of light. A ring is also a circle, unless it is a boxing ring. The Xbox 360 has made me want to hit things, so I guess that works too. A circle may be perfect, but so far my experience with the 360 has been anything but perfect.
I took delivery of the Xbox 360 almost a month ago and so ended a four month quest to obtain the sacred ivory gaming crack. I cataloged that adventure in a previous post titled A Tale of Two 360’s. That was only half the story. Okay, really it was like 2/3 of the story because it was so frickin long. Here’s the rest. Maybe…
So, if you remember, there was much excitement upon delivery. I went straight to Best Buy following Aria’s Christening apres-ski. I loaded up with Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (GRAW), Continue reading »

Assholes in the Outfield
Apologies for the colorful title, but in this particular instance it is warranted. I went to my first Sox game of the year yesterday to see them shutout by the Seattle Mariners. While the game result wasn’t in our favor, the game was a good one and it was an amazing day at Fenway.
Wakefield settled down to pitch a complete game, but the Sox lineup squandered a lot of opportunities to score. As for the weather, it was more like a June day at the park than a mid-April day. Usually at this time of year, day or night game, there’s a pretty good chill to the air, but there I was wearing shorts and my Manny jersey in the mostly sun-drenched bleachers and worried because I didn’t put sunblock on my arms.
This year’s changes to the park look great and fit in with the others done over the last five years so that they seem like they’ve always been like that. In fact, in addition... Continue reading »
