We make soxytime
Well, other than dropping post-length comments on Ed’s blog, I haven’t posted anything here until now. That’s part lazy blogger and part didn’t-have-to because Ed did. Now that we are headed to the World Series again, I think the time has come to at least acknowledge it here.
So, let me start by saying “I told you so.” Sox in seven baby!
Hey, and that is never mind defending Drew — ask Ed or Noelle, I basically called JD’s shot — or agreeing on Ellsbury or… hey, that’s enough. The ALCS was a great series, just like I knew it would be. Of course, I’m happier that the Sox pulled it out, but had the Indians held on, props to them too. After all, they won as many games as the Sox did this year and beat a Yankees team that was probably better (at the time) than the Angels team we faced.

My civic duty
Oooh… I just love it when I can use a Scrubs inspired title for a blog post.
So, today I fulfilled my civic duty by spending a day in the jury pool. I know… fun, right?
Actually, not that bad. It would seem that the folks at this particular courthouse get the fact that no one wants to be there. Heck, even two judges were part of the act!
The decades old orientation video even provided some unintentional comedy. Not quite like a Hanso Foundation film reel, but maybe as old. I’m guessing by the clothing and hairstyles that this thing was filmed during my high school years, so late eighties.
All kidding aside, I will say that the folks were all very nice, especially those two judges and the two court officers babysitting us. This seemed in sharp contrast to the procedural folks I remember from my last dip in the pool 11-12 years ago. As for the folks in the pool its... Continue reading »
Twelve K
Well, Halo 3 has vaulted both Ed and I over the 12k Gamerscore mark almost three months earlier than our goal. I’m glad I was able to make it given I had no 360 for a month. Pretty cool.
Ed, Jason and I completed the Halo 3 campaign cooperatively on Legendary this past Thursday night. That had me 40 points away from 12k and I picked up the Marathon Man achievement for exactly 40 on Friday. We have now moved on to playing the campaign again with the meta/scoring turned on to complete those achievements.
