Telefizzled w.4

First off, I offer an apology that I didn’t get another post up last week. Work took over for most of the week and I was drunk the rest of it. I am kidding about the work part. I will get two non-telly posts up this week to make up for it. One being about the Sox and the other being about being drunk at work.

This week saw my schedule grow by two new shows, so here we go:

Chuck: Bryce wasn’t very interesting. I mean, they could have done more other than to make Chuck jealous, like, I don’t know, explore more about his past with Chuck and whether or not they are still sorta friends or frenemies. The interesting wrinkle was Sarah pretty much showed she’s fallen for Chuck, which in turn had Bryce convincing Chuck to put her off, which was a painful scene to watch. Do guys like Chuck pull like that? He is cool, but he handled that too easily. I don’t think I could have done it. Anyway, it has come back to what you’d expect, the will-they, won’t-they arrangement that TV loves, except this time the characters actually got a little taste in the start-ish of the relationship/arrangement.

Big Bang: Not much Penny and Sheldon interaction, so not as much funny. They did substitute Penny and Raj interaction, which is a little funny, but not great. Also pulled some of those classic Three’s Company type situations on Leonard, so nice nod there. Wait a minute… all sitcoms do that. Whatevs.

HIMYM: Okay, so not moving out and they love interventions. Barney scares us all by scoring made up as an old guy. Interesting and gross. Show is still subpar so far this year, so will I axe this one next? Hmm… no, not as long as Robin and Stella are around. Sorry.

My Own Worst Enemy: Okay… it was okay. Okay enough to keep it alive. The premise is a bit silly. I mean, I hope they can explain why he can’t just keep a “normal” double-life slash cover. Mike O’Malley as his badass co-co-worker is awesome. Funny in the office and a bad ass operator. I totally believed him as a spy.

Eli Stone: So… I guess we might as well have skipped the last episode of last year, because by the end of this one, it might as well have not happened. Well, except maybe for the earthquake. Anyway, a decent setup? Not so much, but I guess it will do. Katie Holmes this week. I don’t know if I am happy or scared about that…

Smallville: Lois and Clark are sooo going to be on. As for the kidnapping and electrocution and Jimmy is a fibber, meh. I can’t drop this show since I have been watching it from the start and this is likely it, but it has been very underwhelming so far this year. Do you sense the same theme I have about all these shows yet. I mean, Ed might have it right by just watching…

The Office: But then, this hasn’t been spectacular either. Dwight treating the stroller as a trailer on his Firebird: a little funny. Jan having the baby without Michael present: expected. Pam and Jim out of sync: whatevs. Funniest thing about this one was Michael consulting with Darryl. Other than that, I don’t remember much in the way of super funny.

The Hills: Hahaha… anyone think I was kidding about this show? I watched the newest one on OnDemand between these shows. I forget what happened now. I’m sure I liked it. Pretty sure. Still gonna watch this week. I’m sure they’ll remind me with “Previously, on The Hills…”

Life on Mars: Okay, so I’m going on record with the belief he is in a coma. I’m sure I will be wrong, but since he’s writing down a list, I am going to probably change as he works thru stuff. Unfortunately, there was another corpse Bonet sighting, but mercifully short. Keitel is awesome and Imperioli is an ass, so perfect, even though I hate him.

That’s it for another week. I’ll get that Sox post up very soon, like next two days. Ranges from Manny to going to last Tuesday’s game to them losing after a little magic. Not that I watched it.

I must go, I have said too much…
