My Own Worst Enemy Edition
Another one bites the dust… and it wasn’t even on last week, which is why it bites the dust. You have a week layoff to start its season and I lose interest. I still don’t understand why NBC chose to not show any new shows the night before the election, but they did, so while I will continue to watch Chuck until it is cancelled, I won’t say the same for Enemy.
With this one now out, I am no longer watching anything new this season and 30 Rock is already on the bubble after two episodes. Can Aniston and Martin save it? Unlikely.
Chuck: Oh, that’s right… NBC shows this and it wasn’t on. Grr…
Big Bang: A geeky grad student takes a liking to Sheldon. Hilarity ensues. (I kid, I kid.) It was funny to see how they’d handle this kind of situation and it came off pretty much like you’d expect, except it didn’t seem the girl was into him outside of his brain, so no situation where we’d see what happens when he is presented with the option of s3x.
HIMYM: The let’s avoid Stella episode. It was another lame one. Maybe this one is on the bubble too.
Smallville: Well, the Kara/Supergirl story is resolved for now. Brainiac stuck her in the Phantom Zone and she, Clark and Lois (!?) all get out along with Zod’s wife, who of course takes over Lois’ body for the episode. Come to find out that the Secret Apprentice… I mean Starkiller… I mean Doomsday is the genetically engineered child of she and Zod. This genetic material was somehow transported to Earth along with Clark’s ship as a baby. You don’t get any other explanation besides that and I doubt we ever will. Anyway, she fully awakens him by stabbing him thru the chest with a pipe, so it should be on now!
The Office: Hands down the best episode of the season, and not just because Holly is goners. It was because Jim and Pam were in constant contact via tiny Bluetooth earpieces all day. It was because Kelly sabotaged Dwight and Jim’s customer service reviews because they didn’t go to her party. (Where’s my mug?) It was because Mr. Buttlicker almost got Dwight fired for a million dollar paper order. It was because Pam yelped out “that’s what she said” x3 in the middle of her office for seemingly no reason (that co-workers knew about). It wasn’t because they got all Jim and Pam heavy at the end. Can we please not do that crap? Still awesome.
30 Rock: Yay for Obama. Boo for Oprah. Drugs are fun (and funny).
That’s it for last week. No Eli Stone, but at least that was because it was on election night. Now two (?) episodes behind on The Hills too. I will catch up though. Remember, it’s a train wreck.
Here’s my newly trimmed list:
- Sunday: nothing
- Monday: Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Chuck, Heroes, My Own Worst Enemy, The Hills
- Tuesday: Eli Stone
- Wednesday: Gary Unmarried
- Thursday: Smallville, The Office, 30 Rock, Life on Mars
- Friday: nothing
- Saturday: nothing

My Own Worst Enemy is cancelled so you don’t have to worry about that one anymore, anyway.
