Telefizzled w.17
Yay for the return of Lost! Boo for worms at work!
I had a long four day work week and had to catch up on a lot of telly over the weekend. Unfortunately that included Lost and Friday Night Lights. I really need the HD DVR because watching both of those in standard def is painful. Painful!
No Scrubs because of some inauguration or history or something. Feh.
Big Bang Theory: Sheldon tries to make a new friend. Best part was him making friends with a little girl in the kiddie book section and Leonard pulling him out of there before he was labeled an unintentional sex offender/pedophile. Other than that, kinda weak.
HIMYM: Ted and Barney’s bar and Marshall and Lily’s weird rituals. Well, I can appreciate the gift of beer, so good on Lily for that one. Why didn’t we get to see what happened when the bar owner found the place trashed? Thought this one was a letdown from last week.
Lost: As usual, my comments/thoughts are over on Ed’s post at The Ed Zone. Juliet wins. You know what I mean.
Smallville: I get the feeling that pretty much every episode following last week’s will not measure up. I don’t like John Jones not having powers anymore. It is just stupid. That said, Clark Kent going undercover to solve who shot Jones was kinda cool as we start to see Clark growing into his “day job.” And, why is Lana suddenly around so much? I mean, I know she was going to come back as a guest, but why all at once? I guess that makes sense in terms of scheduling, but I am not sure I like the Lana for Lois trade-off.
The Office: Score. Gold. Awesome. Wonderbra. This is a Michael out of the office story I can get behind. I prefer him this way versus the uncomfortable way. Know what I mean? Some good quotes here I think but I’m too lazy to pull them from the recording. Leave em if you got em. Hillary Swank? Not.
30 Rock: Now, this was also a good one too. A very good one. The Six Sigma crap hits home because it is voodoo cult nonsense. This crap started working its way into my last company. I hope I never have to deal with it. Unfortunately, it was much like Liz’s reunion, which they already did this year, yeah? Still good though. I think Ed is right; that is the right amount of Dr. Spaceman. Have a couple jokes and done. Lemon in her bra? Really?
Friday Night Lights: Hmm… Kim Dickens as Saracen’s mom? Okay, I can dig it. I think. Yeah, I can believe it. She was just young. I’m not sure why I care. Looks like they will wrap up Smash quickly. That’s fine. Where’s Street? I know he’ll get his. Um… Tyra gives good government? (That’s what her shirt said, right?) Okay. Her line about the prom was funny though. Very funny. And true. Very true. Why does Riggins have his head so far up his ass? Rare squab? Really? For Lila? Ick.
Lastly, I watched Burn Notice this week. I have seen bits and pieces over the last year and I am intrigued by it, so I figured I’d give it a go. I don’t know that I have a lot to say except that Bruce Campbell is the man. But you knew that.

1. The Office – I like when they make Michael more human. He really did seem beat up by what they did to poor Prince Paper. I wonder if this is setting us up for something down the road – i.e. Michael quitting…
Kevin: “I don’t want to bang a painting.”
2. Friday Night Lights – Smash gets a 4 episode arc (his last one is a great one) and then we pick up with Street on Episode 5 for his 4 episode arc (and again, his last one us a GREAT one) and then there are 5 episodes beyond that (and the last one is (DRUM ROLL)… a GREAT ONE!!!)
The J.D. McCoy stuff pays big dividends around Episode 8 or 9. YOu will absolutely hate his father if you don’t already!!!
