Telefizzled w.23
It was an even fuller week than I expected due to the return of Rules of Engagement and Reaper. I watch Rules like I watch Gary Unmarried, it is usually funny enough and it is also good to have a nice half hour of easy comedy to which you can eat your dinner. I likely won’t write much about it after this week and pretty much treat it the same as Gary, which is to not write about it…
Also, I did avoid watching Trust Me this week and I am fine with letting that one go. Will Tom Cavanagh ever get a good regular gig again? Love Monkey was good, so of course it was canned.
Anyway, here’s what I did watch!
Chuck: So, now let’s introduce another romantic rival into the mix for Chuck, but this time instead of him being his thought-to-be-dead-best-friend it is a British super spy. Well, obviously I am not buying it. I’m sure Sarah is interested because it is a fling she can have, much like Chuck with his Ex, but they’ll be back pining for each other in no time. Probably after the next episode. Liked the plumbing double entendre’s Big Mike was laying down on Morgan. Love to see that little b!tch squirm. The evil spy chick was super hot. I’m a sucker for the freckles. Too bad she killed herself.
Big Bang Theory: Wolowitz gets some. Finally. But I don’t care. He’s my least favorite character unless Penny is smacking him down. Penny accidentally paintballs Sheldon’s seat. You know the one. I did sit there wondering why it didn’t come off easier since I think that usually comes off in the wash. Also, whenever I see paintball portrayed on TV, I cringe. Of course they have to show peoples faces, so they give weak/small goggles and I just don’t think there is anyway in the world I’d play without the full face shield. At least an intelligent person wouldn’t.
How I Met Your Mother: I got about 10 minutes in and the digital recording freaked out with a sound error. It made it pretty much unwatchable so I gave in. I got the gist and didn’t feel the need to finish it on-line. I didn’t care that much about Barney’s fake family, but I did wonder if Ted scored the chick. My guess is doubt it.
Rules of Engagement: I watch this show for two reasons. The first is for Patrick Warburton. The second you can figure out for yourself, but I will say it isn’t for David Spade, although I do like it when he gets the beat down from pretty much everyone. That said, this week everyone pretty much plays nice except everyone does get a snipe or two from someone. I guess what I am saying is no one gets the full bull’s horns this time.
Reaper: So, the Devil gave Sam a month vacation and he wastes it with Ben and Sock instead of with Andi. What is this cat thinking? This girl very well may be one of the cutest on the tube right now. I forgot how much I missed this show until the Devil showed up in the first place. This guy makes you believe he is really how the Devil would be. Anyway, Sam uses his brain and figures out how to capture all the souls at once and blah, blah, blah. Much like Chuck — they do share the same basic concepts throughout — I watch this one for the characters and language more than the *missions* each week.
Lost: Comments are over on The Ed Zone, but the one you know you want to know every week is still here. Of course I am talking about the weekly winner and this week it was home-making-dinner-for-LaFleur Juliet. That 70’s garb and the straight hair… wow… not to mention, Kate looked real rough after she got out of the VW. It is worth repeating here though that I like this LaFleur cat a lot better than Sawyer.
The Office: If the writers are as cruel as they are smart, they will make that woman Michael *met* in the blood donation van a happily married mother of three. Keep the man down, although it was nice to see his troops rally around him for the mixer. Meanwhile, Bob Vance and Phyllis get busy in the handicapped bathroom while Jim and Pam skarf down Vance’s fries. Gross. Everyone should have someone, but please, let’s not share b-room v-day quickies, okay? I liked Kelly’s valentine from her dentist and Creed just might be a vampire, or at least dealing to them.
30 Rock: So, I started watching this while making dinner and kinda lost track of what was going on after about 10 minutes. What I heard in the background didn’t really make me want to catch up, so I didn’t. Ed and I discussed yesterday and since it was centered around Jenna and Frank — um why? — it wasn’t funny. I was a little interested in what happened with the girl and the baby though. I’m sure I’d be right in guessing that Lemon scared her off with her personal brand of weird/crazy.
Burn Notice: They finished up their mini season by killing Tricia Helfer and putting that story to bed I guess. I didn’t see how that all started so I don’t really know what it means. I do like watching it though and I will pick it back up in June when the next mini season starts.
Friday Night Lights: Now, let me just start off here and say I cried a little bit at the end. You see Riggins tear up a little bit then you damn well better yourself, so I did. I called it a couple episodes ago; there’s more to that Tim Riggins than they would have had you believe. I mean, you saw little bits and pieces the previous two seasons, but it is really coming out now. I guess that’s part of growing up. Anyway, good to see Street get his happy ending too. Now I guess we wrap up Saracen and Tyra. Good stuff.
Dollhouse: Lots more mythology coming out now and definitely a little more about the organization itself. This Alpha cat is definitely the Big Bad and he’s apparently very, very gifted. Sure, he can slice and dice you right quick, but he can also out think your best and brightest as well. This is four in the can. I’m in until they blow that many in a row.
Let me ask you something and give me some honest feedback. Do I write about the hotties too much? I mean, it is a running joke with Lost, but what about the other shows? Do I seem like a basement dwelling dork or something? Are these things better left unsaid? Just wondering…

The Office – I’m voting on vampire Creed although with that guy, sometimes it’s best not to know.
30 Rock – This is how bad 30 Rock was. I watched the whole thing and don’t even remember what happened with the Juno subplot.
FNL – I just read that NBC and DirecTV are very close to signing a deal for TWO more seasons under the same arrangement they used this year. EW has the story So that is VERY good news.
Dollhouse – Didn’t watch it yet and not sure if I will. I sort of like having a thinned herd. With the Netflix and other ancillary activities, I think that might be for the best. Making my current TV lineup as follows:
FNL
Lost
24
The Office
30 Rock
Scrubs
And that’s it. Nice and manageable.

I’m thrilled to hear that FNL might return for two more seasons. The ending was definitely sad, but I’m glad that Street is moving on. I also agree that there’s definitely more to Riggins. Based on the preview for next week, it looks like Tyra is going to call on someone to help her out of a bad situation. Who thinks it’s Landry?
I haven’t seen all of the episodes of 30 Rock this year, but it hasn’t been as entertaining as the first two seasons. Hopefully, it’s not all downhill from here…

Yeah, that would be awesome if it came back for two more seasons. I don’t mind waiting for them to air on NBC after DirecTV. Worth the wait.
I agree with Noelle, I think Landry comes to Tyra’s rescue. It is either him or Tammy.
30 Rock has definitely been up and down this year more than in the past. I feel like if it doesn’t totally hit, it is only maybe half an episode’s story if at all. There have only been two total hits this year. I think.

[…] play the game with this show, but not any others. If you don’t know what I am talking about, go back two (w.23) and try and figure it out. That said, Juliet wins […]
