Shows are starting to wrap up and I am wrapping up shows. Reaper and Parks and Recreation were officially removed from my Media Center record series list. I skipped both again this week. RIP.
No Scrubs or Ted this week because of yet another Obama presser. Do something instead of talking about it. Did I just say that? I did vote for the guy and I think he has already had more pressers than little Bush. (We know why.)
Chuck: Well, if this was the end of this series, it went out well. That said, I hope this isn’t the end of this series. Things broke down pretty much like I thought last week. The wrinkle was Bryce really getting killed this time (we think). Didn’t really see that coming. Awesome and Ellie get hitched. Morgan goes off to Hawaii with Anna, hopefully to never be seen again. Sarah chooses Chuck over the CIA. Chuck gains the power of Kung-Fu. Good finale.
Big Bang Theory: Vegas Baby! Vegas! That was about all the excitement for those guys. The real story was Sheldon and Penny hanging out after Sheldon locks himself out of his apartment with Leo... Continue reading »

Anyone else want to water board the announcer guy at the start and end of shows on NBC? Anyone?
Chuck: I watched this show sorta in reverse. I got home halfway thru and just watched the rest of it on HD and then went back to see the beginning. It really didn’t seem to matter. The stuff at the Buy More was lame, mainly because they don’t seem to realize that Tony Hale just is not funny in this role. (The ending with Big Mike giving Morgan the fish was good.) As for bringing back Jill (Jordana Brewster) as a means to helping find where Fulcrum is holding Chuck’s dad, well it seemed pointless, but also annoying as this was probably a one-and-done appearance (to pub Fast and Furious?). Again, the ending was good with Sarah going rogue with Chuck. This next episode looks better.
Big Bang Theory: “Anything can happen Thursdays” seem like a good idea for this crew, but for me, I am camped in front of my television. OMG… these nerds have a better life than me. Anyway, Penny going on a date with the comic book store guy was funny, especially... Continue reading »

Do we really need more cop shows on television? Is every hour long show going to become a crime or medical drama? Oh, besides Lost, Dollhouse and Fringe and that… okay is every hour long show going to become a crime, medical or mystery drama? Oh… wait… then there is reality… when did this happen? It has always been like this, hasn’t it… damn. It took a horrible show like The Unusuals to make me realize this.
Chuck: So, Scott Bakula is Chuck’s dad, but also… wait for it… Orion. Can’t say I saw that one coming. I’m pretty sure this is all that happened. Besides, you know, Arnold Vosloo playing another character that seemingly cannot be killed.
Reaper: I fast forwarded thru about half of this one. I feel like this year hasn’t had me like last year did. Sock did seal the deal with his stepsister, so good for him and kinda gross for us? I still can’t make up my mind on how I feel about this thing. I guess it does have me talking about the show, but also fast forwarding thru it too. Also, the Sam a... Continue reading »

I’m not gonna lie… it felt weird to not have a new Office or 30 Rock this week. I feel like my Facebook status was sad because it couldn’t be filled with a good line last Thursday night. Looks like NBC will make up for it by giving us two episodes of The Office this week so they can make a nice Parks and Recreation sandwich.
Chuck: I forgot to applaud the Brian K. Vaughan shoutout in last week’s epsiode. Chuck was using an issue or trade of Ex Machina to hide his reading of the Intersect plans provided by Orion. This week he was at it again, but there was also a Y: The Last Man poster on the wall behind him. Oh, and then also a Camel (Programming Perl) book. Um… oh, so all that nerdery aside, Tricia Helfer appears as an agent trying to give Sarah the boot. She was pretty good I guess, but in the end, Sarah and Chuck prove they are better off together than apart. This next one should be good with Chevy Chase and Scott Bakula.
Big Bang Theory: Another building hotty moves in upstairs from the boys and Penny feels the pain. It was actually nice to... Continue reading »

No Big Bang this week and I still don’t get what’s up with that. CBS showed the new How I Met Your Mother in that spot and followed it with a HIMYM repeat. Why? It wasn’t a special episode or anything. Stupid Sweeps! Of course now that they are over we’ll get some repeats sprinkled into April before the big May finish. We are also getting some new shows like Parks & Recreation (next week?) and returning shows like Aqua Teen Hunger Force and My Boys (both starting this week).
In fact, My Boys is the funniest show you aren’t watching. I pimp it every year it starts back up and you don’t listen. Tuesday at 10.30. Check it out. Seriously.
Okay, on with this past week of telly:
Chuck: That was fast. Orion finds Chuck instead of the other way around and then ends up dead by the end of the episode? He took himself out in a cool way, but still. I guess he did leave Chuck with some help and that’s enough to keep it go... Continue reading »

Scrubs and Lost are back but Chuck was lost. I think next week there is no new Big Bang Theory. What’s up with not having new shows every week during sweeps? I don’t understand. Also, that Better Off Ted show with the cushy spot between Scrubs and Lost started this week. It looks like I will watch it by default.
Big Bang Theory: The nerd herd makes barrettes for Penny’s new business adventure. Oh, and apparently a terrible web site. They should have maybe contracted out to me, but then, I don’t do contract work. Anyway, the episode was kinda blah until Sheldon closed it out zooming around in his Flash uniform. That scored back many points. Zoom zoom zoom!
How I Met Your Mother: I have to agree with Jason here, I am glad that Laura Prepon is already goners. Could they have made her more annoying? I know that was the point, but I real... Continue reading »

It was an even fuller week than I expected due to the return of Rules of Engagement and Reaper. I watch Rules like I watch Gary Unmarried, it is usually funny enough and it is also good to have a nice half hour of easy comedy to which you can eat your dinner. I likely won’t write much about it after this week and pretty much treat it the same as Gary, which is to not write about it…
Also, I did avoid watching Trust Me this week and I am fine with letting that one go. Will Tom Cavanagh ever get a good regular gig again? Love Monkey was good, so of course it was canned.
Anyway, here’s what I did watch!
Chuck: So, now let’s introduce another romantic rival into the mix for Chuck, but this time instead of him being his thought-to-be-dead-best-friend it is a British super spy. Well, obviously I am not buying it. I’m sure Sarah is interested because it is a fling she can have, much like Chuck with his Ex, but they’ll be back pining for each other in no time. Probably after the next episode. Liked the plumbing double entendre’... Continue reading »

With the Nielsen sweeps starting this month, the schedule is going to fill out again, but for this week, just five shows. Let’s get on with it.
Chuck: More beatdowns of Morgan. I love it. Of course, it didn’t last long, but it was very funny when Chuck sprayed him with the nitrous oxide breath spray. Funnier because I didn’t see the setup of that part from the show opening. (I got home a little late.) Jeffster was about as lame as you could ask for, so therefore, awesome! Chuck didn’t get blowned up and he and Sarah do their little dance for us. Sigh.
Lost: I can never decide if I am a fan of John Locke or not, kinda like Sawyer, but overall, this one felt a little flat to me. I slapped up some comments over on Ed’s post. Very little to choose from this week, so I guess I have to go with house-mom Kate.
30 Rock: This one was all about Tracy. Sure, the Lemon and Kenneth quest to retrieve her phone with... Continue reading »

Light week with a lot of shows in repeat. Now I kinda wish I was going to write about Trust Me and Burn Notice because both were new. I guess that’s what happens with these new cable network shows and that’s a good thing.
Chuck: So it is going to be like that is it? Are they just going to get Chuck or Sarah’s hopes up at the start of each episode and then have the other dash them by the end? Every time? Seems like that these days. Andy Richter, Jenny McCarthy and the creepy alien bounty hunter guy from The X-Files appear as part of a Fulcrum neighborhood watch. They were good for the most part. Richter not totally believable, but he was okay I guess. I wish he could get a regular gig and actually be good at it, or at least the show be good or those around him be good. It always seems like something. Lastly, I like that they are going to torment Morgan by having Big Mike date his madre. He deserves it.
Lost: As always, comments are on The Ed Zone. Booty Call Kate wins! (The joke just... Continue reading »

Wow… twenty weeks of telly so far this year. Of course, that’s not a totally accurate count of the weeks in the season so far. Just the weeks that had something new on for me to watch. Speaking of that, this week didn’t start so well with Chuck and How I Met Your Mother not being on because of the Obama presser. I didn’t even get home in time to watch any more than the last five minutes. I’m sure I can find it easy enough in the tubes, but I don’t want to hear him say “Um” much more. He should probably work on that.
Big Bang Theory: They smartly tucked this one in after that Charlie Sheen show, so yay! for saving my Monday night. Christine Baranski was awesome as Leonard’s mom. She actually managed to get her son further along the bases than he could himself. Of course, he blew his chance. The Sheldon interaction with Leonard’s mom was the highlight. I guess singing some Rock Band together was their substitute for sex because surely they would have had it had either had any interest in it, which has (and was) establi... Continue reading »
